Joy, laughter, anticipation, butterflies, bliss, tension, and relief. Wedding days run high on a multitude of emotions and it's what has kept me hooked year after year. Most of us, at one point or another, have looked back on our own parents or grandparents wedding photos with some sense of adoration and nostalgia. It is with this same sentiment that I strive to document weddings. Your wedding photographs should ripen over time, offering a delayed reaction that grows more meaningful as life carries on and memories fade.

California Film Wedding Photographer. Venue: Old St Hilary’s Church Reception: Sam’s Cafe
My coverage began with the ceremony at Old St Hilary’s Church. To begin, Cate & Chris chose to forgo the traditional wedding celebration and instead, hosted their family on a sunny day in California. Having grown up in Tiburon, Cate felt drawn to Old St Hilary’s pastoral landscape.
With a stunning view of the marina on one side, and beautiful rolling California hills on the other, it was truly the perfect backdrop. This wedding maintained a no-fuss approach while still being so beautiful and natural.
Perhaps my favorite photo from this day was just as Cate and her dad descended the stairs and her sister realized she had forgotten her veil. Her sister ran up, grabbed the veil and placed it in her hair. Then she ran back down, arms flailing and I snapped the photo. One of those moments you can only anticipate and hope you nail it.
After the ceremony and quick family photos and couple portraits, everyone made their way downtown for cocktail hour. After a few drinks and bites, everyone hopped on the sailboat for a stunning sail around the bay. Cate had grown up sailing and her dad made the perfect captain for the day.
Afterwards, the family reconvened at a beautiful home in Tiburon. They had a private chef cook an intimate dinner and enjoyed the evenings sunset. Then Cate changed into a low key dress for the evening and we took a few more casual photos by the water.
Finally, a huge thanks to Cate and Chris for inviting me into their wonderful family for the day. What a joy it is being entrusted to document such sweet memories!
