Intimate Leavenworth Wedding

Camille and Dan had an intimate Leavenworth wedding nestled in the mountains of Leavenworth, WA. They combined her Hawaiian & Japanese heritage with their new lives in the PNW and it was one of my favorite weddings to date.

 

With most big weddings, you sort of morph into the background; observing and capturing the business of the day like a fly on the wall. But with a guest count of 7, you step into a different role— one that requires an openness on both ends. Camille and Dan’s family welcomed me into their circle for the day with open and loving arms and allowed me to capture a rawness I don’t think you can get otherwise.

The day before the wedding day, they called me concerned with how hot the forecast was. Our initial plan was to have the ceremony at 4pm and we decided to switch it all to the morning to avoid the heat. A little concerned with how the light would be, it ended up being such a magical morning and honestly made me want to do more morning weddings (we ended with brunch– how fun!). They had their ceremony followed with some portraits around the property and then we came inside to flee from the heat for some late breakfast. Their family welcomed me with such open arms and it was a true joy to celebrate with them.

I left feeling like my cup had been filled so full, and that is all I could ever want in a job. I have so much gratitude for this job of mine:)
